WHAT IS ‘UPLIFTED’ ALL ABOUT?

It is time to rally the Vancouver Trance Family for a gathering of epic proportions! There
are so many passionate Trance lovers in our beautiful city of Vancouver, which has
made it easy for many of us to meet each other and connect through the music. This
is a night to bring the family together so that more of us can meet and appreciate the
great talent of our local DJs. It is quite special to have such an open-minded group
of individuals with such a passion for good music. The Vancouver Trance Family is
that amazing group of people. There is so much diversity in our Trance community
and when the music is playing, everything else is forgotten and we join as one in
appreciation of the moment. We can thank our love for the international Trance scene
and the amazing DJs and music producers that run its circuit. However, without our
local clubs, fellow Trance enthusiasts, and especially our local DJs, our ability to enjoy
that together would be next to impossible. We are very lucky in Vancouver to have such
talented local DJs, and with each day that passes, their skills become more apparent.

Now, together, the Vancouver Trance Family is given the chance to showcase that local
talent in a night that is all about VTF and what it stands for: LOVE and COMMUNITY.
This could be the start of something big, and will be a real test of our local Trance
community’s passion for the music.

What does Trance music mean to you? Trance music is all about those special
moments that make you feel like anything is possible. It’s not just music. It’s a lifestyle
of endless possibilities and multiple levels of emotion and feeling. Together we can
get UPLIFTED and enjoy that great feeling. Let’s unite the family for one night in
appreciation of the music and the people that make the Vancouver Trance Family what
it is today. Spread the word, share the love, and most importantly, GET UPLIFTED!

BIOS:

ERIC ALLEN

For most DJs, a club residency, an internationally aired regular radio show and
playing alongside some of the world’s biggest DJs including Above & Beyond, John
O’Callaghan, Dash Berlin and more, would be crowning achievements on a strong
career of DJing. Eric Allen continues to do all these things and more all with his best
years still far ahead of him. Now nominated for a 2011 Vancouver Nightlife Award as
Vancouver’s Best Electronic DJ, it seems that Eric Allen is an unstoppable force.

Growing up, Eric had always had a musical ear, but never discovered a style of music
that really grabbed him. After being played some Trance music by a friend in his mid
teens, the rest as they say is history. Gobbling up all the Trance music he could, Eric
has lived and breathed the music ever since. Being too young to play in clubs initially,
Eric had to fight for his first gigs but nevertheless began to develop a following at local
concerts, parties and events with his signature dark, driving and immensely energetic
blend of progressive trance, house and techno.

After a whirlwind first few years, Eric has firmly established himself on the West Coast
electronic scene. With his residency at Vancouver’s “Afterglow Friday’s” at Gorgomish
Nightclub, his radio show “On The Dance Floor” which is broadcast worldwide on
AfterhoursFM and a continuous slew of requested guest mixes, club gigs and other
events, Eric has his sights firmly set on nothing less than the top. His fans have come to
know Eric to always bring a powerful energy to the dance floor and an Eric Allen set has
a feeling to it all on its own.

Now settling into his residency and moving into the world of production and original
composition, the next few years for Eric are set to be bigger and better than ever.

ZERO DISBELIEF

Uzair Syed Hassan | DJ Zero D | Zero Disbelief (www.zerodisbelief.com)

With his flawless mixing skills and the flow achieved by mind/soul, his sets inspire and
make his listeners melt away. He calls his style of mixing “atmosphere / theme style,
which puts tracks together in a way where one gets uplifted by the feeling of constant
rise”.

Through online radio combined with live events in the Vancouver club / rave scene,
opening for big names such as Cosmic Gate, DJ Dean, Andy Whitby, Dark By Design,
and many more, Uzair Hassan has truly honed his skills.

At the beginning of this year Zero Disbelief secured a monthly residency at Vancouver’s
best afterhours nightclub: GORG-O-MISH. Today, his future seems brighter than
ever with so many amazing people supporting him. Listen to one of his sets and you’ll
become one too!

MYNAK

Aleem Virani returns, better than ever. After winning the 2010 VTF DJ Opener Contest
and starting off a magical night for the one and only Arnej on September 24, 2010 at
Shine Nightclub in Gastown, he is back in full force and ready to deliver some mind
melting, skull smashing, brain belting Trance. The energy he brings to the dance floor is
unique and fresh, mixing multiple flavours that keep crowds interested and coming back
for more.

For over a year Aleem Virani was front and center at every show, writing down every
song that world famous DJs would play. After watching for so long, Aleem decided it
was time to start doing this himself under the moniker “Mynak”.

Mynak’s first love would be Trance music, the genre that absorbed him into the world of
Electronic Dance Music. Teaching himself everything about mixing using only emulation
software, Mynak soon got hold of a set of CDJs and became thoroughly addicted.

Despite the short amount of time that he’s been at this, Mynak has already shown
tremendous potential. Consistently complimented on song selections and sets and
DJing top events, Mynak has proved an ear for quality music. The future looks
promising for this electronic music lover.
