Michael Silver (aka CFCF) is one of those rare talents to whom pop sensibility seems to be second nature. Despite having just exited his teenage years, CFCF has a musical depth that constantly surprises his elders with influences ranging from Jellybean and Pete Rock to Todd Rundgren and Fleetwood Mac. A wide scope of interest in genre and a mature melodic instinct allow him to shift gears effortlessly from Italo to Disco to Balearic to Piano House and everything in between. His music can be sweetly melancholy or creepily disturbing, but it is always fundamentally Pop.

Having risen to prominence with his contest winning remix of Crystal Castles “Air War,” CFCF became known as a go-to remixer, reinterpreting songs by artists including HEALTH, Owen Pallett, Taken By Trees, Jori Hulkonnen and Nacho Lovers. His wide-ranging taste is also reflected on his weekly radio show, “Do You Want New Wave Or Do You Want The Truth,” on internet station Viva Radio.

At the end of 2008 CFCF released his first single, the double A-side You Hear Colours/Invitation to Love (Acéphale) and quickly followed it up with an EP of earlier work, Panesian Nights (Paper Bag) at the beginning of 2009. Throughout the rest of the year he worked on his debut album, Continent (Paper Bag), which was released to widespread acclaim towards the end of the year. Currently he is prepping EPs for RVNG Intl, Paper Bag and Modular Records while he lays the groundwork for his second album that is to be released in early 2011.
